INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

A trusted local presence, working alongside universities to support families throughout the semester. For families who expect the same standard of care abroad as they do at home.

THE SERVICE

A Better Experience for the Whole Family

Universities take care of enrolment, academics, and on-campus wellbeing and structured support systems. Maison Millan works alongside this, extending that support into the practical, everyday matters that sit outside what university staff are resourced to manage day-to-day.

We partner with universities and families to provide a local point of contact once a student is settled and studying — available for families overseas, and ready to act if something needs local attention.

Every engagement is personal — considered around your family’s circumstances, your child’s needs, and the level of contact you’d like to have.

This service is available to any family with an international student living and studying in Perth, regardless of which university they attend.

A local contact. A steady line of communication. A better experience for the whole family.

Why Families Choose This

Once a student has settled and classes are underway, most family concern isn’t academic — it’s the practical unknowns. Is my child managing on their own? Who do we call if something comes up? Is there someone local we can actually reach — and when we come to visit, is there someone who can make that easy too?

Maison Millan answers that. We stay in regular contact with both the family and the student throughout the study period — a professional point of contact based in Perth, available not just at arrival but for the whole journey. This isn’t only about the student settling in; it’s about the whole family feeling looked after, informed, and at ease.

We hold ourselves to the same standard we’d want for our own family — measured, attentive, and always reachable.

WHEN FAMILIES VISIT

Effortless, From Arrival to Departure

Family visits are one of the most important moments in a student’s time abroad — and one of the easiest to make effortless. Maison Millan takes care of the details so families can focus on the visit itself, not the logistics:

  • Accommodation or hotel arrangements suited to the family’s preferences

  • Airport and local transport coordination

  • A considered itinerary — things to see, do and enjoy together, tailored to the length of stay

  • Restaurant bookings and local recommendations

  • A local contact on hand throughout the visit for anything that comes up

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

Everyday Local Support

  • A named, on-call local contact for the family throughout the semester

  • Local support for practical or unexpected matters as they arise

  • Coordination with trusted local services when something needs handling on the ground

  • Tenancy support and guidance while the student is living locally

Health & Wellbeing

  • Health, wellbeing, or logistical support outside university systems

  • Appointment coordination — GP, dental or specialist, accompanied if needed

  • Support navigating overseas student health cover (OSHC)

Family Communication

  • Periodic updates on how your child is settling and progressing, so you’re never left wondering

  • Regular check-ins and updates with parents, where appropriate

  • Full coordination when family members visit — accommodation, transport and itinerary

  • Communication with families available in multiple languages

Why Maison Millan

Built on Trust. Driven by Relationships.

Built on nearly two decades of relationship-building across property, relocation, lifestyle and trusted services, Maison Millan brings a highly connected and considered approach to family and student support.

Maison Millan is founded by Andrea Williams, who has spent 20 years working in Western Australia’s property industry — managing rental properties and supporting documentation for property managers across the state. That depth of experience means genuine, practical knowledge of tenancy, property and the local living process, not just a general local network.

For families overseas, the value lies in having someone local who can assist, coordinate and connect — with the professionalism and care that means your child is never truly on their own.

We complement and support the universities in the areas they aren’t able to offer on an ongoing basis, and we’re here for families throughout the period — especially when they come to visit.

Every family’s circumstances are handled with the same privacy and care we’d expect for our own.
